Dearest Reader,
The past week was a little stressful work wise although I was able to overcome many obstacles by maintaining a positive attitude (literally choosing to do so) while setting boundaries as appropriate (which is a very healthy thing to do). Not to mention a little mindful breathing and some rocks! Maddie and I had a girls day out last Thursday when we hit up one of our favorite stores, Earthbound. I found a huge chunk of Tourmaline that now sits on my desk at work in addition to two small tourmaline quartz rocks that I move around in my hand as one would do with anger balls! It works. Sometimes, we just gotta find ways to have a moment to literally breathe and ground throughout a workday or whatever we find ourselves in at the moment! Over the weekend, I hung out with a new friend and had a date night with my husband. Overall, I would say that the weekend was fun! Like many people, I had feelings regarding the inauguration of the President.
We are a Country that is divided, that is for certain. I will not fuel that here although those closest to me know my views. This conservative outlook actually fits in well with the cards and runes that I drew for the week from the Aquarian Tarot by David Palladini:
Two of Cups and Ehwaz: This week (and every week), it is important to meet people where they are even if they hold different views that ourselves. Ehwaz is a rune that is synonymous with a horse. Just like a horse and rider speak two different languages, they are able to meet in the middle and work together. With a newly appointed President in the Oval Office, there will be many strong views this week. Remember that work is not the place for conversations regarding politics. Also be mindful of what you feed your brain: Turn the TV off and step away from social media to give yourself a break from the constant negativity that is present. Instead, choose other activities to fill your theoretical cup (aka gas tank) in healthy ways.
Page of Rods: Do you see how the Page's face is downward turned, not looking straight at us? Be particular of your company and who you open up to. Not everyone is your friend nor do they have your best intentions at heart. Remember that we have a finite (limited) amount of energy available every day for the people and projects we must prioritize and/or care about. Be mindful of what you invest your energy in.
Page of Cups with Othala, Gifu, and Ansuz: I believe that it is important to note that there are three runes that landed on this particular card. The Page of Cups can be a playful energy although that is not the vibe I get from this particular card. The Cups are all about emotions. This week, it will be important to be mindful that we may not be at our very best due to the uneasy emotions felt by many with the new President and the coverage of the Inauguration. Othala reminds us to lean into our support system, our family and/or friends. It is also a nod to remember our history. I cannot help but think of how history repeats itself, especially when we do not learn from it. Gifu is about interactions with others and conserving our energy. Remember that it is okay to say "no" and to have boundaries that you are not willing to compromise on when it goes against one's belief and/or value systems. Again, remember the workplace is not the place for these conversations (a theme that comes across loud and clear with this reading). Ansuz warns us to be wary of the sources of our communication in all of its forms. Does your information come from a reputable source or a questionable one with an agenda? This is the rune of both Odin (who is a wise, inquisitive figure) and Loki (with all of his trickster energy!).
I hope that everyone has a good week. Look for the glimmers (the positives) in your day. Stay warm and safe if you are cold like me in the Northern Hemisphere!
Sincerely,
The Crow Lady
